Student Laptops
STUDENT LAPTOPS
Student Laptop Agreement
All students will be assigned a laptop at the start of the school year. Parents are required to sign a new Student Laptop Agreement (SLA) every school year. Starting on August 28th an email containing the SLA will be sent to the primary parent/guardian listed for all students. Note: if the primary guardian does not have an email address, the app will send the email to the secondary guardian contact. The SLA must be completed by midnight on Sunday, October 1st, 2023. Forms not completed electronically, can be completed via a paper agreement at school.
We will have paper SLAs available during our Open House and Back to School Night events. During this time, parents may wish to look at the laptop before singing.
*NEW for 2023*
You have the option to decline a laptop for your student. However, please note that a laptop will still be assigned to your student for instructional purposes within the classroom. The laptop will be kept at school and will not be permitted to go home with your student, even during virtual learning days. It is important to emphasize that your student is responsible for taking care of the laptop while in their possession, just as they would with any other school property. It is also important to note that even if your student brings their personal laptop or tablet to school, in most instances they will be required to utilize their CCPS issued laptop for instruction.
Damage/Loss
Any damage, theft or loss of a device must be reported to the school immediately. In the event of theft, a police report must be filed, and the police report number must be provided to the school. Parents/guardians accept financial responsibility for costs related to abuse or neglect (both intentional and accidental) caused by their student and will be invoiced accordingly.
• Laptop repairs due to physical damage: $150
• Replacement laptop due to loss or severe damage: $300
• Replacement power adapter: $32
